It works just fine, is easy to use, has a nice no-bull**** UI, and it creates a fast restore CD or lets me add it to BartPE, WinBuilder, or WAIK if I want to. Honestly, that's my sincere recommendation. My best recommendation: go with an older version of Acronis TI if you can get a hold of one. Startup times are longer, the core feature hasn't changed (just need to image my ****in' computer), and they still lack obvious niceties (Norton still can't send a ****in' email notification through Gmail SMTP (or any SSL SMTP server, for that matter) it's 2010, ffs, that's a no-brainer feature). MS still hasn't fixed the fuzzy sub-pixel text-rendering issue and that, combined with the service-based background processes, makes the UI's noticeably slow compared to normal Windows applications and previous versions of both applications.
NORTON GHOST VS ACRONIS INSTALL
They both install server services on your computer the server component is required just for the user interfaces to function. As tuxplorer said, both NG and ATI have become needlessly bloated. For example, O&O SafeErase 3 was a wonderful, simple, functional product Version 4 absolutely ruined the product simply to give it a pretty UI I, a paying customer, got kicked out of their support forum for telling them about it. Software companies seem be losing sight of what makes software good. Is it true that Norton Ghost is much easier/simpler to use than Acronis? That's a subjective question, but I find NG 15 to be easier to use than ATI 2010, though I think both suck. I would like to share 2 links with forum members that I came across and while doing this little research. Will be very thankful for your help/reply/guidance.
I assume Norton Ghost 15 also offers this feature? Does Acronis also offer this feature?
Norton Ghost 12 allows the user to boot from a CD and restore from a saved image. What is SID and what are the benefits of SID While searching (before making this post) i came across the term SID and the sentence that "The Paragon and Norton Ghost both have a Change SID option".
NORTON GHOST VS ACRONIS FULL
Which one produces small images when used with full compression.I have been using Norton Ghost on XP for about 2 years and am inclined towards it.What is the difference between cloning and imaging.I know there's plenty of material out there but my questions are probably very basic and maybe not covered in all the stuff that i ran into. I would like to go with one of these on my Windows 7 PC (64-bit). I am making this posting after spending a good amount of time searching on the net and on this forum.
